Liverpool Christmas betting tips – Last 10 Boxing Day results

Aston Villa 1-3 Liverpool – Boxing Day 2022

Boxing Day last season saw Liverpool defeat Unai Emery's Villa, which was the first time they were beaten under his management. Mohamed Salah, who heads to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Egypt in January, was on the scoresheet alongside Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Bajcetic,

Leicester 1-0 Liverpool – 28th December 2021

Liverpool fell to a shock defeat at Leicester two days after Boxing Day in 2021, as Salah also missed a penalty.

Liverpool 1-1 West Brom – 27th December 2020

The Reds missed the chance to go five points clear at the top of the PL as relegation-battlers West Brom earned a stunning draw at Anfield.

Leicester 0-4 Liverpool – Boxing Day 2019

Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a man-of-the-match performance as he got on the scoresheet for Liverpool, who stunned nearest title challengers Leicester with an emphatic win at the King Power Stadium.

Liverpool 4-0 Newcastle – Boxing Day 2018

Salah scored and assisted as Jurgen Klopp's side romped six points clear at the top of the table.

Liverpool 5-0 Swansea – Boxing Day 2017

Alexander-Arnold was on the scoresheet once again as Liverpool thrashed another team in Swansea at Anfield.

Liverpool 4-1 Stoke – 27th December 2016

The Reds produced another four-goal haul at home against Stoke to move within six points of league leaders Chelsea.

Liverpool 1-0 Leicester – Boxing Day 2015

Liverpool have made a habit of playing Leicester in and around Boxing Day, and a Christian Benteke winner ensured victory at Anfield against them this time.

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool – Boxing Day 2014

An away fixture this time, and a replica of what they face in 2023, as Liverpool travelled to Burnley winless in four matches, but a Raheem Sterling goal grabbed victory at Turf Moor.

Man City 2-1 Liverpool – Boxing Day 2013

A fierce clash between two of the PL's traditional ‘big six' saw Liverpool just edged out by Man City at the Etihad Stadium, as the hosts kept up their 100% home record.

Burnley vs Liverpool betting – Selected niche markets

Over 3.5 total away goals – 7/2

Liverpool have scored four or more goals in four of their last 10 Boxing Day fixtures, so a repeat of this against relegation-threatened Burnley should not be out of the question, especially with the firepower the visitors possess.

Salah to score a goal assisted by Alexander-Arnold – 9/2

Salah and Alexander-Arnold have been involved in plenty of goals over the last few Boxing Day fixtures for Liverpool, so one to assist the other could come through. Salah is Liverpool's top scorer, so he is more likely to get on the end of an Alexander-Arnold assist, with the Englishman boasting an exceptional passing range and crossing ability.

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool correct score – 10/1

To get a repeat of the 2014 Boxing Day fixture, Liverpool would have to win 1-0 at Turf Moor. Given Burnley's lack of goals in the PL, and the fact the Reds have one of the best defensive records, this scoreline could well come through, and at a generous price too.
