The January 2026 transfer window may now be closed for business, but plenty of teams across the Premier League are already plotting their next big-money moves for the summer.

One of the month's biggest spenders remain in the headlines today, although it's now about two potential outgoings, while a soon-to-be free agent is attracting interest from two of their top-flight rivals.

Here are your biggest transfer headlines:

Adam Wharton looks set to be a man in demand this summer, with Real Madrid and Manchester United already mulling over potential moves for the England international.

But now, according to The Mirror, it appears Liverpool are considering joining the race for the 21-year-old's signature.

The Reds have already made a move ahead of the summer, signing Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in a £55 million deal, and it appears they are only just getting started with the Crystal Palace midfielder now on their radar.

It's thought that Wharton will cost in the region of £80 million, so it remains to be seen if Liverpool boss Arne Slot will follow up his initial interest with a bid before the summer window opens.

Where does the future lie for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta?

Another Eagles player facing a likely exit is Jean-Philippe Mateta, who saw a deadline day move to AC Milan fall through at the 11th hour.

It's Manchester United who are now linked with the towering France striker, as per The Mirror, who claim the 28-year-old is a long-term target for the Red Devils.

Mateta failed a medical with the Italian giants and has since returned to Selhurst Park, where he faces new competition for the starting spot up top as Palace sealed a £48 million move for Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Indeed, United could capitalise on the uncertainty surrounding his time in south-east London, especially given the fact that his current deal expires in 2027.

Elsewhere, Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is attracting interest from the Premier League ahead of his contract expiration at the end of the current campaign, with both Chelsea and Newcastle United among those thought to be keen.

That's according to reports in Italy, which claim the Serbia international is facing an uncertain future in Turin, having only just returned to training following a recent injury.

The 28-year-old, who has also been linked with Arsenal in the past, underwent surgery in December and isn't expected to play for Juventus until March.

It is also suggested that Vlahovic is open to staying with the Serie A giants, but talks over a new deal have stalled in recent months. Both Chelsea and Newcastle should be able to offer him better terms, which could put them at the front of the queue ahead of the summer.
