Despite the transfer window officially shutting on 1 September, several Premier League clubs are still working on prospective deals ahead of the winter window at the beginning of next year.
Overseas, summer deals are still in the works. The Turkish window is one in particular that we should keep an eye on, as their transfer window is set to remain open until 12 September. Meanwhile, the Saudi market will remain open even longer, with their deadline pencilled in for 23 September.

Man City defender Nathan Ake is attracting suitors ahead of the January window

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is reportedly going to be hot property in the coming year, with several Premier League clubs keen on his signature.
According to Caught Offside, Tottenham are leading the race to sign Ake from Manchester City as Thomas Frank is looking for a player who can cover both centre-back and left-back.
However, Spurs won't have a clear run at the Dutchman. The same report lists Nottingham Forest and Everton as two other clubs who want to sign the defender, while Newcastle and West Ham enquired about him earlier this year.
For anyone to get Ake out of Manchester City, they will have to bid somewhere between £15-£20m, which isn't bad for a player who cost the Cityzens £40m in 2020.
Tottenham made a last-ditch offer for Jean-Philippe Mateta

Although Tottenham ended up bringing in Randall Kolo Muani on loan on transfer deadline day, things could have worked out very differently, according to journalist Alan Nixon on X.
Nixon has reported that Spurs made a deadline enquiry to Crystal Palace about the availability of Jean-Philippe Mateta and were prepared to make a big offer for the Frenchman if they'd received positive signals.
As it happened, Palace rebuffed the enquiry and are now said to be preparing a new contract for Mateta to ward off any other interest in the upcoming January transfer window.
In reality, Palace were never going to sanction the sale of Mateta on deadline day, particularly as they were in the midst of cancelling Marc Guehi's proposed move to Liverpool at the request of their manager.
Arsenal are interested in Murillo

Arsenal are reportedly set to go head-to-head with Barcelona for the signature of Nottingham Forest defender Murillo, with Mikel Arteta keen on the Brazilian.
Although the Gunners signed a left-footed centre back, Piero Hincapie, in the summer, they would jump at the chance to bring Murillo to the Emirates Stadium, according to Caught Offside.
Although Nottingham Forest have no interest in selling Murillo in January, their resolve could be tested next summer if a bid north of £70m comes in from Arsenal, Barcelona or another top European club.
The potential move for Murillo isn't the only Arsenal transfer news of the day. Besiktas have reportedly submitted an offer for Leandro Trossard, and the Belgian is reportedly interested in the move.
