Tottenham new signings: Confirmed ins and outs January 2026

In this article, we will cover all of the Tottenham new signings and departures from the 2026 January transfer window.

Spurs endured a disappointing Premier League season and finished 17th in the standings, just one spot above the relegation zone. However, they also won their first trophy nearly 20 years after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final, though that did not stop Ange Postecoglou from being dismissed, with Thomas Frank replacing him at the helm.

However, Frank was also dismissed after a poor run of results and replaced by Igor Tudor, who was tasked with keeping Tottenham in the Premier League. He did not last long either, and now Spurs are looking for a new manager to help them avoid relegation.

Have the January signings contributed to their relegation battle, or have they prevented it from being any worse?

Tottenham new signings January 2026

Conor Gallagher (Atletico Madrid)

Tottenham's most expensive signing in January was Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid for around £35m.

Gallagher signing grade: C

Gallagher boasts plenty of Premier League experience and has bolstered the midfield, while also contributing to the homegrown quota. However, the financial outlay on him was significant, and certainly a risk with potential relegation on the cards.

Souza (Santos)

Young Brazilian left-back Souza was drafted in from Santos for around £13m.

Souza signing grade: C

Souza has plenty of potential and has covered for Tottenham's injuries in the backline. However, he is still very raw, and it was still a significant outlay for Spurs ahead of a possible relegation.

  • Manor Solomon (Fiorentina) – Loan
  • Min-hyeok Yang (Coventry City) – Loan

Tottenham transfer window rating: Grade D

While Gallagher seemed a smart signing at the time, other areas of the pitch arguably needed to be addressed. Tottenham also decided to sell one of their most reliable goalscorers in Brennan Johnson, and are now struggling to score enough goals to stay in the league.
