Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Brighton star Carlos Baleba, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealing the player is keen to join the Red Devils.
According to the Italian journalist, Baleba is “very eager” to make a deal with the Old Trafford club, who have reportedly made the 21-year-old their priority target ahead of the next summer window.
One big sticking point which could prevent this deal from completion is the price tag. The Brighton man has an estimated value of £50m, though the south coast club will be looking for a lot more.
However, journalist Dean Jones believes that Man United will refuse to fork out £100m on transfers in the near future, casting fresh doubt over the feasibility of this deal.
Man City set sights on Said El Mala

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has instructed his scouts to monitor the progress of FC Koln winger Said El Mala, according to Sky Sports in Germany.
The 19-year-old sensation has taken the Bundesliga by storm, picking up six goal contributions in just 385 competitive minutes this season.
El Mala’s contract with Koln runs until 2030, though with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund joining the transfer race, it is only a matter of time before the player moves on.
The teenager boasts an estimated value of £15m on Transfermarkt, though Koln are already setting their sights on double that amount. Thankfully for them, El Mala is reportedly happy in Cologne and is willing to continue his development at the club.
Troy Parrott linked with Premier League return

A number of Premier League clubs have been put on alert by Troy Parrott following his sensational two appearances for the Republic of Ireland during the international break.
The former Tottenham man, who now plays for AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie, scored five goals across two games for his nation – including a thrilling hat-trick against Hungary.
Football Insider are now reporting that West Ham are one of the Premier League clubs who are looking at potentially bringing the 23-year-old back to the English top flight.
The Irons are desperate to find a new striker considering Niclas Fullkrug is expected to move in January. Parrott has a contract with AZ Alkmaar until the summer of 2029, meaning the London outfit will need to splash a bit of cash in order to get their man.
