Arsenal are reportedly considering a January move for Atletico Madrid winger Alex Baena as Mikel Arteta looks to further strengthen his attacking options.

According to emerging reports, the Gunners have revived their interest in the Spain international after previously tracking him before his move from Villarreal to Atletico Madrid.

Baena has enjoyed an excellent start to the season with five goals and three assists across all competitions, while his versatility and familiarity with several Arsenal players are said to appeal to the club.

However, Atletico are expected to resist any approach for the World Cup winner, with Diego Simeone viewing the 25-year-old as a key player and likely to demand a fee well above his estimated £40m value.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a move for Sporting CP wonderkid Flavio Goncalves amid growing competition for his signature.

The Blues and Manchester United are both considering offers worth around £45m for the 19-year-old winger during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Sporting are eager to tie Goncalves down to a new contract containing a release clause closer to €100m (£90m), with his current buyout set at €60m (£50m).

It is also believed that Chelsea have extensively scouted Goncalves, and could look to leverage their strong relationship with the Liga Portugal side in any future negotiations.

Liverpool are reportedly open to extending Ronald Araujo's stay at Anfield following an impressive start to his loan spell from Barcelona.

According to the Daily Mail, both the Reds and the Uruguay international have shown an early willingness to continue their relationship beyond the current campaign.

Araujo has adapted quickly to Premier League football and recently contributed two goals while also impressing defensively, despite often playing out of position.

The Reds hold an option to sign the defender permanently for around £47m, although it is suggested that they could instead try to negotiate a lower fee with the LaLiga giants before making a final decision.
