Chelsea inch closer to Rodrygo deal

Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, with a report from ESPN Brasil stating that the Brazilian's preference is to move to the Premier League should he choose to depart Real Madrid.

Rodrygo was a target for several clubs in the summer, but at the time, he was committed to fighting for his place at the Bernabeu. However, according to ESPN Brasil, his stance has now changed, and he is disillusioned with his playing time under Xabi Alonso.

Although the report from Brazil didn't mention Chelsea directly, it coincided with a post from IndyKaila on X, who stated that Chelsea are committed to making the transfer happen, whether it be in January or next summer.

Chelsea's desire to bring Rodrygo to Stamford Bridge is an interesting one, considering they are fairly stacked in wide areas. However, when a player as talented as Rodrygo becomes available, it's difficult to turn the other way.

Barcelona linked with a shock move for Ryan Gravenberch

One of the most surprising rumours of the day involves Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

The Dutchman is being linked with a move to Barcelona, with Fichajes reporting that the Spanish giants are preparing a £44m bid that will be submitted in January.

The same reports state that Hansi Flick is keen on the player as he fits the profile he is chasing. Flick reportedly wants to add a defensive midfielder who has the ability to pass forwards, something Gravenberch does well for Liverpool.

Given Liverpool's shortcomings so far this season, it is highly likely that they will sanction any deal for Gravenberch this January, particularly as they look light in midfield as it is. However, this is perhaps a move to keep an eye on for next summer.

Harry Kane to Barcelona gathers momentum

Rumours linking Harry Kane with an exit from Bayern Munich next summer refuse to go away, and it now appears that Barcelona are the frontrunner for his signature.

While Tottenham and Man Utd have also been heavily linked with the England captain, The Guardian are reporting that Barcelona have now made him their top target for the summer transfer window.

A move to Barcelona would make sense for all parties. The La Liga champions are set to lose Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season, so they will certainly be in the market for a proven goalscorer. For Kane, it would be an opportunity to sample another top European league while he is at the peak of his powers.

This is a story that is going to run and run throughout the season, but for now, it seems that Barcelona have the edge over clubs in the Premier League.
