Manchester City are back in Champions League action this Tuesday, with the champions of Europe taking on RB Leipzig for the fourth time in two seasons. Erling Haaland has been taking the headlines in these games, as the Norwegian netted five in a record-breaking performance against the Bundesliga giants at the Etihad last campaign during a stunning 7-0 win.
This will also be the sixth time these sides have met since September 2021, and a total of 21 goals have been scored in these thrilling encounters. With plenty of goals seemingly in the pipeline, let's take a closer look into the latest Haaland hat-trick odds, along with some more markets for the City superstar against Leipzig.
Haaland hat-trick odds
With a brace in three different games for Borussia Dortmund against Leipzig, Haaland came within touching distance of a hat-trick back in his German football days. A move to City would follow, and although he has only scored in one of the three games for the Citizens against his former Bundesliga foes, he did score five within one match.
That came in a record-breaking 7-0 win for Pep Guardiola's men in an 8-1 aggregate win across two legs, and the Haaland hat-trick odds against Leipzig now stand at as little as 11/1 (12.0) in some places.
In fact, only Alvarez nears the Haaland hat-trick odds, but even then, the Argentine is up at 22/1 (23.0) with some bookmakers.
As expected, Haaland is also way ahead of any other player to get the game's first goal on Tuesday. The Norwegian has odds of 9/4 (3.25) to get the first or the last goal against Leipzig, and he has done in two of his seven prior games against them.
There are also plenty of betting specials on the go for anyone else who has spent every waking hour watching the Norwegian over the past three years:
Goal time betting tips – When does Haaland get most of his goals?
Haaland also has 14 goals in 13 Premier League outings this season, while netting the opener six times thus far. He also bagged the first against BSC Young Boys in the Citizens' last Champions League outing. That would suggest he's a quick starter rather than a slow burner, but Haaland's finishes are spread out relatively evenly across his whole career.
In his March demolition of Leipzig, he scored two of his record-breaking five match goals in the first half before scoring three more within the second 45. In fact, those three second-half finishes came within just 12 minutes of the restart. So to put it another way, all five goals arrived before the hour mark!
And going further back, all the way to his Dortmund days, he scored twice in the DFB-Pokal final against Leipzig back in 2021, netting a goal with his left foot in either half.
Haaland also scored twice against them earlier that season in the Bundesliga, finishing one with his head and the other with his famous left foot, as both goals came in the second half. The striker's other two finishes against Leipzig came in a 2-0 win in 2020, scoring with a right-footed effort in the second half and with his left in the first.
All this is potentially helpful if there are any specific ‘goal method' betting markets available to combine with goal time wagers for a potentially eye-catching payout.
