Goteborg vs Degerfors predictions: Hosts aim to deepen woes of struggling visitors
Key stats
- We have witnessed over 8.5 corners in each of Goteborg’s last four matches.
- The Blavitt have also claimed victory in the most recent three head-to-head encounters with Degerfors.
- The visitors have lost their last three league games and have conceded at least twice in the previous two.
Correct score prediction: Goteborg 2-1 Degerfors
Goteborg’s recent dominance in this fixture underpins our predicted scoreline. The hosts have scored a minimum of two goals in each of the last three meetings between the sides and emerged victorious in all of them.
Degerfors, however, managed to find the net in two of those clashes, making the predicted scoreline a realistic outcome.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Hosts more than twice as likely
- HOME: 7/10 (1.70) – 58.8%
- DRAW: 13/5 (3.60) – 27.8%
- AWAY: 3/1 (4.00) – 25.0%
*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Bookmakers clearly favour Goteborg, giving them a 58.8% chance of winning, with the probability exceeding the combined likelihood of a draw (27.8%) and away victory (25.0%). The Blavitt are seen as clear favourites to take all three points on Monday.
There is also value in other markets. Over 1.5 goals for Goteborg is priced at 8/11 (1.73), implying a 57.9% chance, which aligns well with the Blue-White’s scoring record in this fixture.
Meanwhile, over 8.5 corners is rated at 3/10 (1.30), translating to a 76.9% chance of landing.

Goteborg preview: Minor changes at most
The Blavitt have endured a mixed campaign, recording eight wins, one draw and eight defeats to sit eighth in the Allsvenskan standings. Their recent league form has been unpredictable, alternating between wins and losses over the last six outings.
Stefan Billborn’s side are coming off a frustrating 4–3 defeat to Elfsborg last Monday. Despite leading by two goals, they collapsed late on, conceding two stoppage-time goals to leave empty-handed. Billborn may stick with the same lineup used last time out, having named an unchanged XI in the last two matches, or make only minor adjustments.
Injuries remain a concern, with Anders Trondsen, Arbnor Mucolli, Lucas Kahed, and Ramon-Pascal Lundqvist all unavailable.
Predicted lineup: Bishesari (GK), Tolf, Erlingmark, Bager, Santos, Kruse, Thordarson, Clemmensen, Heintz, Alioum & Fenger

Degerfors preview: Goitom still seeking first win
Back in the top flight after a one-year absence, Degerfors have found the Allsvenskan a tough battleground. Currently 13th in the table with 14 points from 17 games, they have suffered 11 defeats — only bottom-placed Varnamo have lost more.
Bruket halted a seven-game losing run with a goalless draw against Norrköping last weekend. While the result was far from ideal, it marked Henok Goitom’s first point as head coach since his appointment on 9 July. However, Degerfors have yet to score under his leadership and are in desperate need of attacking improvement.
That said, Sebastian Ohlsson will miss Monday's clash due to concussion.
Predicted lineup: SmithIgonen (GK), Sundgren, Hien, Pikkarainen, Diaby, Lindell, Gravius, Girmai, Barsoum, Rafferty & Faraj

Player to watch: Max Fenger
Max Fenger has made a strong impression in his debut season at Goteborg. The Danish striker, who signed in February, has netted nine times in 17 league appearances, placing him third in the Allsvenskan scoring chart.

The 23-year-old was on the scoresheet last time out and remains a major threat in attack for the Blavitt heading into Monday’s encounter. Fenger also found the net in the reverse fixture, so he’ll fancy his chances against a Degerfors backline that has now conceded a league-high 36 goals this season.
