Fulham vs Chelsea: Why to back Morgan Rogers to score at 5/2 in Premier League clash

Chelsea will begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign with a short trip to Craven Cottage, where they face London rivals Fulham on Monday night.

The Blues endured a disappointing campaign last season, finishing 10th, but have entered a new era under former Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso, with expectations high ahead of the new season.

Without Champions League football to contend with, Chelsea can put their full focus on the domestic campaign, and they have been particularly busy in the transfer market after bringing in 11 new players.

Among the most notable additions is Morgan Rogers, who arrives after an impressive spell at Aston Villa and could immediately become an important part of Alonso's plans.

Rogers was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, but Chelsea won the race for his signature after hijacking the deal with a club-record £117m offer.

The 23-year-old has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the option of a further year.

The former Middlesbrough attacker scored 31 goals in 125 appearances for Aston Villa and played a key role in their Europa League triumph last season under Unai Emery.

Alonso now has plenty of attacking options at his disposal, but Rogers could provide another dimension and help Chelsea compete for a top-four finish, if not a title challenge.

The England international is expected to start against Fulham and is priced at 5/2 (3.50) to score on his Chelsea debut.

Fulham vs Chelsea: The Blues must finish in top four

Chelsea have enjoyed the better of this fixture in recent years, winning four of their last six meetings with Fulham, although the Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage last season.

The Blues are priced at 5/6 (1.83) to claim all three points and 29/20 (2.45) to win the first half, having led at the interval in five of their last seven meetings with Fulham.

Rogers is also capable of creating chances as well as scoring goals, having registered 29 assists during his time at Villa.

The England midfielder is priced at 7/5 (2.40) to score or assist against Fulham, which looks appealing as he looks to make an immediate impact in his first competitive appearance for Chelsea.
