Elche kicked off their Copa del Rey campaign with a 3-1 victory at amateur side UD Pintanar on Tuesday.
The hosts have now won back-to-back games and are unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions.
Martin Anselmi's troops have earned 10 points from their first 10 league matches and are 16th in La Liga, just a point above the relegation zone. They are one of the league's best travellers, while conversely being the worst home team, having failed to win a single home game this season.
Marc Aguado is sidelined with a sprained ankle, while Fernando Nino and Pedro Bigas will both need a late assessment to confirm their availability for this clash.
On the other hand, Valencia are coming off a disappointing 2-1 home defeat against neighbours Villarreal. They had the lead at the half-time break but were unable to hold on for the win, ultimately succumbing to a heartbreaking 96th-minute winner.
With that in mind, Los Che's winless streak extends to four games. They are still searching for their first victory under Javier Aguirre, who took charge of the club during the previous international break.
Having earned only six points from a possible 30, the visitors are in the relegation zone in 19th place. They have won only one of 10 La Liga fixtures so far, although, interestingly, that sole victory came on the road.
Head coach Aguirre will not be able to call upon the services of the injured Diego Lopez (cruciate ligament), David Otorbi (hamstring), and Sergi Canos (cruciate ligament), as well as the suspended Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott.
Valencia have a great track record against Elche, as they have lost only once in the last seven H2Hs (W4, D2) and have won seven of their last 10 trips to this stadium.

Whispers Predicts: Elche 1-1 Valencia
Priced at 29/20 (2.45), Elche are considered favourites by the bookmakers ahead of this skirmish.
The hosts are winless at home this season, and considering that two of both teams' last three respective league matches ended in stalemates, we believe that the spoils will be shared after 90 minutes.
Three of Valencia's last four games have featured goals at both ends, and this can be backed at 4/5 (1.80).
We also fancy under 2.5 total goals at 10/11 (1.91), as was the case in four of the last five H2Hs.
> Under 2.5 total goals at 10/11 (1.91) | Likelihood: Probable
> BTTS – Yes at 4/5 (1.80) | Likelihood: Probable
> Match result: Draw at 5/2 (3.50) | Likelihood: Possible
> Over 4.5 total cards at 3/4 (1.75) | Likelihood: Probable
> Correct Score: 1-1 at 51/10 (6.10) | Likelihood: Outsider
