Authenticity (4/5): Romano hints at Veiga's exit
Borussia Dortmund have made a move for Chelsea full-back Renato Veiga, having already held talks with the Premier League giants as he is considered one of their top targets during the ongoing January transfer window.

The story comes from Fabrizio Romano, who is always in the know when it comes to transfer updates.
Value (3/5): Both clubs are exploring a deal
It remains unclear what kind of structure Dortmund and Chelsea would agree for Veiga's transfer, as Romano claims they are discussing the “formula of the deal”. Considering the Portuguese only moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer, a loan exit appears the most likely outcome. This should also appeal to the Bundesliga outfit.
Suitability (3/5): Can play all across the pitch
What made Veiga one of the most sought-after talents in the summer was his ability to more or less play all across the pitch. Even in his limited appearances at Chelsea, he has managed to play as a left-back, left-sided midfielder, centre-back, and defensive midfielder.
He would provide plenty of tactical solutions to Nuri Sahin if Dortmund could get the deal over the line.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): First-choice left-back
In recent weeks, Almugera Kabar has emerged as a promising talent at left-back for Dortmund. However, he is still only 18 years old and shouldn't be given the responsibility to regularly play for the German giants. Veiga could come in as a short-term solution to help Sahin and at the same time give Kabar some time to continue his development without any pressure.
Logic (4/5): Best to leave Chelsea
The talented full-back has been handed just seven Premier League appearances this season. He is tied to the club until 2031, but considering Enzo Maresca's plans and competition in London, Veiga would do well to push for a transfer imminently.
Whisper+ verdict: 17.5/25
Romano's stamp on any transfer saga demands our attention so it's best to follow Dortmund's pursuit of Veiga with keen interest.
