Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (2.5/5): Nigerian outlet reveals Osimhen's desire
We earlier covered that Manchester United and Napoli are exploring the possibility of agreeing a swap deal involving Victor Osimhen. Now, it is being suggested that the striker is very keen to move to the Theatre of Dreams with preliminary moves already underway to finalise the deal.
The claim is made by Nigerian outlet Business Day. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume the local sources would know about Osimhen's desire. Still, not much is known about the outlet, as far as transfer business in the European market is concerned.
Value (3.5/5): Reduced release clause
This report focuses more on a straightforward transfer. It is understood that Napoli have inserted a €90million (£74.6m) release clause in the Galatasaray star's contract.
However, in order to ensure the player switches clubs in January, the clause could allegedly be dropped to €75million (£62.1m). Not a very high price tag considering the striker's ability.
Suitability (4/5): Goalscoring and pressing machine
The prolific number nine has an impressive 13 goals to his name for Galatasaray this season. However, Ruben Amorim is likely to admire him even more for his out-of-possession work. The 26-year-old constantly likes to bully defenders with his physicality and intense pressing.
Upgrade? (4.5/5): Massive addition
Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been frustrating figures under Amorim, to say the least. Osimhen is an obvious upgrade on both strikers, having proved his mettle in France, Italy, and now Turkey.
Logic (3.5/5): Pull the trigger
The Mancunian giants should capitalise on the opportunity and look to find an agreement with Napoli. Further, as the report suggests, Osimhen is going to welcome the move, which would allow him to showcase his qualities in Europe's toughest league.
Whisper+ verdict: 18/25
The reputation of the source remains unclear. Still, on paper, the move makes perfect sense for all parties involved, including United and Osimhen.
