Paris Saint-Germain are closely following the performances of Jaydee Canvot at Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace fear a Parisian swoop, but what price could make the English club budge?
After a single season in Ligue 1, in 2024-25, Jaydee Canvot left Toulouse to join Crystal Palace. Toulouse were unable to keep hold of their gem, but made a handsome sale for £19.5m (€23m), for a player who had played only 22 professional matches.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, has adapted well to English football. After a first season of 36 appearances, the France Under-21 international has established himself as a starter in Pierre Sage’s squad at the start of this season.
Paris Saint-Germain following Canvot’s performances
Inevitably, the young French defender is starting to attract attention. Football Insider reports that Paris Saint-Germain have shown an interest in the former Toulouse player. The capital club are closely watching Jaydee Canvot’s performances, having made enquiries this summer. Within Crystal Palace, there is therefore a fear of seeing the young defender leave quickly.

The English outlet reports that Crystal Palace will struggle to fend off a possible Parisian offensive, given Paris Saint-Germain’s financial power and the attractiveness of their project. The south London club are also used to seeing their best players depart, such as Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, who joined major European clubs.
Crystal Palace could follow the Jeremy Jacquet blueprint
Although Paris Saint-Germain will be difficult to fend off, Crystal Palace can nevertheless drive a hard bargain. The Premier League club are not, for now, forced to sell their 20-year-old defender and are even in a position of strength, with his contract running until June 2029.
Jaydee Canvot is valued at £30m (€35m) on the market, but given his potential, his status as a starter for France Under-21 and his role at Crystal Palace, the transfer fee could be even higher. Other leading suitors could join the race. Crystal Palace could take inspiration from Jeremy Jacquet’s transfer from Rennes to Liverpool, completed last winter for £59.5m (€70m), to set the starting price for their gem.
