While all of Europe's top five leagues and many others across the globe take a rare break on Christmas day before returning on Boxing Day in the Premier League, there are indeed still some who will be continuing on December 25.
A lot of the fixtures come from Asia, however, the standout games are in the Turkish league where fans will be treated to seven games throughout the day, so this is where our main focus will be in our Christmas Day football accumulator.
Christmas Day football accumulator
Alanyaspor vs Samsunspor
One of two early afternoon games for people to dig their teeth into is one of the closer matchups of the day between Alanyaspor and Samsunspor. The two sides are separated by just three places and two points.
A win for the away side would see them leapfrog their opponents and jump out of the relegation zone, which would certainly be a welcomed Christmas present for fans and players. While the visitors do indeed face another tough task on the road, their last away clash was a victory so they'll be brimming full of confidence.
Since September, Alanyaspor have only lost twice at home in the league, despite Samsunspor appearing to have turned a corner in their last outing on the road, picking up back-to-back away victories appears a step too far, so we're backing the home side to win at 13/10 (2.3).
Kasimpasa vs Rizespor
This clash could well be the best game of the day as eighth take on sixth, although we believe there could be a big road victory on the cards for Rizespor on Monday, December 25.
While Kasimpasa hold the advantage of playing at home they are three points behind their Christmas Day opponents and have had a pretty sorry time of things in the league of late winning just one of their last six matches.
Rizespor, on the other hand, have been flying and look set to make a surge up the table and push for the European spots with the Turkish outfit just one point behind Trabzonspor, so with three wins and two draws in their previous five league games, we're backing the away side to come out victorious with generous odds of 23/10 (3.3).
Hatayspor vs Besiktas
This is our standout pick of the day with Besiktas the highest-placed team playing on Christmas Day, so it's only natural for us to be backing the Turkish giants to win, especially when bookmakers are offering attractive odds of 11/10 (2.1).
These odds have been helped by the fact Besiktas have not won in their past three league games, but before this recent blip they had lost just once in five Turkish Super League matches.
This coupled with the fact Hatayspor are stuck in a rut of their own winning one of their previous eight league matches, so we certainly believe this will be the second away win of the day over in Turkey.
Pendikspor vs Ankaragucu
Potentially the most one-sided game of the day, on paper at least, with Ankaragucu sitting just below the top half, while Pendikspor are second-bottom and also three points from safety, so it's not set to be a happy Christmas for the fans.
Four losses in a row conceding 13 goals while scoring two in the process will have done nothing to boost the confidence of any Pendikspor fan heading into this festive clash, so it's a surprise to see them sitting with odds of 9/5 to pull off a victory.
We're all in on Ankaragucu to win at 13/10 (2.3) with just one loss to their name across their previous nine games in all competitions and to make it even more appealing, their opponents have by far the worst defence in the league having shipped 38 goals in 16 matches. For some context, the second-worst defence is Kasimpasa with 31, but they have also netted 10 more times than Monday's hosts.
Heading into the festive period there will be a lot of football, so be sure to check out our other free betting tips.
