Burnley will welcome Plymouth to Turf Moor on Tuesday, 1 October for some midweek Championship action.
The hosts are looking to build on their solid start to the campaign and a win here could see them move to the top of the table if other results go their way.
The visitors will also be pleased with how they've started this season. Despite his critics, Wayne Rooney has already had some memorable wins as Plymouth boss and they will give a good account of themselves at Turf Moor.
As part of our latest round of Championship betting tips, here is our Burnley vs Plymouth prediction.

Burnley vs Plymouth prediction: The visitors to frustrate the Clarets
Key Stats
- Burnley haven't won any of their last six matches by a margin of two goals or more.
- Plymouth have only conceded one goal in their two most recent away league matches.
- Four out of Burnley's last five matches have produced fewer than three goals.
Correct score prediction: Burnley 1-1 Plymouth
After starting the season scoring goals for fun, things have levelled out for Scott Parker's Burnley in recent weeks so we don't envisage them running away with this one. Plymouth, meanwhile, have scored three goals in two of their three most recent matches so finding the back of the net hasn't been a problem for them.
Pre-game odds and win probability: The hosts start as odds on favourites
- HOME: 4/9 (1.44) – 69.2%
- DRAW: 18/5 (4.60) – 21.7%
- AWAY: 11/2 (6.50) – 15.4%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
This match sees one of the favourites for promotion take on one of the most likely candidates for relegation so it's no surprise that Burnley have been priced as the heavy favourites. A win for the home side has been priced at 4/9 by Ladbrokes while a win for Plymouth has been priced at 11/2. The draw, which would be a good result for Rooney and co, has been priced at 18/5.

Most recent H2Hs: A first meeting in 12 years
Due to Plymouth spending the majority of the last 15 years in Leagues One and Two, they haven't come across Burnley since 2012. Their meeting 12 years ago came in the EFL Cup with Burnley winning via a penalty shootout.
Their last league meeting was three years earlier with Burnley winning 2-1. Plymouth's last win over the Clarets came in February 2008.
Burnley preview: A worrying goal trend
Burnley may still be among the favourites to go up this season but Scott Parker is likely becoming concerned about their form in front of goal. They failed to score against Oxford at the weekend and have only scored more than one goal in one of their last six matches. Can they find their shooting boots again on Tuesday night?
Predicted lineup: Trafford (GK) Humphreys, Egan-Riley, Esteve, Pires,Bronwhill, Cullen, Koleosho, Hannibal, Anthony, Foster

Plymouth preview: Rooney's turning the tide
After Plymouth lost their first match of the season 4-0 to Sheffield Wednesday, many people were already speculating that Wayne Rooney's days could be numbered. However, the Man Utd legend has steadied the ship and their emphatic 3-1 win over Luton on Friday night was their best performance of the season. Can they follow that up with a win at Turf Moor?

Player to watch: Ibrahim Cissoko
Ibrahim Cissokok was used as a super sub by Wayne Rooney in Plymouth's win over Luton on Friday night but his performance off the bench has likely earned him a start on Tuesday. The Netherlands under-21 international has looked good so far for Plymouth since signing for the club in the summer and has already scored three times.
