Boavista will play their first home game of the new Primeira Liga season on Sunday, 18 August when they take on Braga at the Estadio do Bessa.
The hosts got off to a brilliant start last week, defeating Casa Pia 1-0 away from home while Braga were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Estrela.

Boavista vs Braga prediction: Braga to get their first league win of the season
Key stats
- Braga have won both matches they've played away from home this season.
- Braga had the joint-second-best away record in the Primeira Liga last season.
- Boavista had the fifth-worst home record in the Primeira Liga last season.
- Three of Braga's five competitive matches this season have seen fewer than three goals scored.
Correct score prediction: Boavista 0-2 Braga
Braga will have been disappointed by their 1-1 draw on the opening day of the new season, so will be extra determined to win on Sunday. They have scored 2+ goals in their two away matches in Europa League qualifying so far this season, demonstrating that they are more than comfortable on the road.
Boavista failing to score at home wouldn't be a big surprise. Only three teams scored fewer goals than them at home last season.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Braga go in as favourites
- Home: 4/1 (5.00) – 20%
- Draw: 3/1 (4.00) – 25%
- Away: 3/5 (1.60) – 62.5%
The Boavista vs Braga odds tell us that the visitors should be taking all three points away from them on Sunday night. This isn't a huge shock when you consider eleven spaces separated these two teams last season. A Braga win has been priced at 3/5 with Betfred while a Boavista victory has been priced at 4/1. The draw, which would be a good result for the hosts, has been priced at 3/1.

Boavista preview: Can they go back-to-back?
Boavista have been a solid mid-table club in the Primeira Liga for quite some time now so being involved in the relegation battle last season would have been a shock to the system. They will be keen to avoid a repeat of that this year so six points from two games would be just what the doctor ordered.

Player to watch: Amani El Ouazzani
Amani El Ouzzani has settled in nicely to life at Braga so far, scoring three goals in his first five competitive appearances for the club since signing from Guingamp in the second tier of French football. The Moroccan striker scored 11 goals in France last season but is already on course to blow that number out of the water.
El Ouzzani impressed on his league debut against Estrela last weekend and probably thought he was the match-winner when he found the back of the net in the first half. With a little more help from those behind him, he could get his moment in the sun on Monday.
