Bayern Munich first goalscorer vs Union Berlin: Harry Kane set for early strike

Bayern Munich find themselves in a similar position to last season in which they are having to chase a team at the top of the Bundesliga instead of being the ones others are chasing. The German giants are already seven points behind Bayer Leverkusen with just one game in hand.

Therefore, Bayern know they can ill afford to drop any more points in the rest of the season if they wish to pick up their 14th consecutive Bundesliga title and that starts by beating last season's Cinderella story in Union Berlin.

Harry Kane already has 19 goals in the league this season having taken his Premier League form over to the Bundesliga. We believe he is the best bet when it comes to the first goalscorer market, but there are also others to be considered.

Harry Kane – (15/8)

Everyone who'd watched even a little bit of Harry Kane knew that he was going to be a huge success with Bayern, although firing them to a title hasn't quite gone to plan. However, the England captain has been playing his part with 222 goals in the league already.

As of right now, Kane is boasting a very impressive average of a goal every 68 minutes, so it would be very wrong to ever back against him being the first goalscorer whenever Bayern take to the pitch. While he didn't find the back of the net against Werder Bremen, he's never gone two games without a goal since moving to Bavaria in the summer.

Mathys Tel

Mathys Tel – (10/3)

Despite having not started a single Bundesliga game for Bayern Munich this season, Mathys Tel is the second favourite to score first for the champions against Werder Bremen. Tel has been restricted to cameo appearances off the bench but has certainly grabbed every single opportunity.

The young French attacker has three goals to his name this league campaign and after watching his side lose against Bremen, Thoams Tuchel may feel now is the time to hand Tel his first senior start of the campaign.

He's currently averaging a goal every 73 minutes, so Tuchel could do far worse than to throw his promising attacker into the spotlight at home this midweek and let him cause some chaos.

Leroy Sane – (5/1)

It is rather slim pickings when it comes to a Bayern Munich goal scorer outside of Kane. Bayern's second top scorer this season is indeed Leroy Sane, but he's only found the back of the net nine times.

Therefore, anyone outside of Kane would indeed be a very long punt when it comes to the first goalscorer market, but Sane could well be the next best thing. Likely start on the wing given the injury Serge Gnabry is still nursing, although after blanking against Bremen, his spot in the team is up for debate.

Jamal Musiala has three goals in his last three Bundesliga games – Photo by Icon sport

Jamal Musiala – (15/2)

Without a doubt, Jamal Musiala is one of the most exciting players in world football right now, and if it wasn't for Jude Bellingham he may well be top of such a list. The 20-year-old has three goals in his last three Bundesliga matches including a brace against TSG Hoffenheim.

It's five goals in the league this campaign for Musiala and Tuchel's given him a free license to roam forward and get into attacking positions. So, the youngster could be the key for Bayern's second-half-of-the-season push to the top of the table.

Musiala has started five times against Bremen during his career registering one goal and one assist in those affairs. While Kane is the obvious pick for this particular market, Musiala looks to have very attractive odds given his recent form.
