We take a look at the Barcelona first goalscorer odds as the Catalan side targets a much-needed three points against Osasuna.
This will also be Barcelona’s first La Liga clash since manager Xavi announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The former Barcelona player’s announcement came as his side fell to a shock 5-3 home defeat against Villarreal on Saturday.
Barca are now 11 points behind league leaders Girona and must gain maximum points to claw themselves back into title contention. The Blaugrana will certainly hope to galvanise to give Xavi some positivity as he enters the final stages of his Nou Camp tenure, especially with favourable fixtures against Osasuna, Alavés and Granada on the horizon.
Barcelona first goalscorer odds vs Osasuna: Our Picks
Robert Lewandowski – 18/5
Barcelona’s top scorer for the season Robert Lewandowski is the standout pick to score first against Osasuna. The Polish striker has found some decent form recently, hitting four goals in his last seven club matches.
Lewandowski got on the scoresheet as Barca’s first-team goalscorer in two of his last four scoring appearances. The veteran centre-forward also netted first when his side defeated Osasuna in the Spanish Super Cup in early January – his second career goal against Los Rojillos.
Fernan Torres – 6/1
Trailing Lewandowski as Barcelona’s second top scorer is attacking midfielder Fernan Torres, who has seven La Liga goals for the campaign.
Torres has found some strong scoring form in recent matches. In his last four games, the 23-year-old has scored four goals, including a hat-trick in Barca’s 4-2 win at Real Betis.
Barcelona’s playmaker has emerged as an early goal threat in recent fixtures too. Torres was the first-match goalscorer in the win against Bets and he has scored first for Barcelona in his last three goalscoring appearances.
At 6/1, the Spain forward could be a decent selection to get off the mark early against Osasuna.
Ilkay Gündogan – 14/1
Ilkay Gündogan was back amongst the goals for Barcelona’s 5-3 defeat against Villarreal on Saturday.
The German midfielder scored Barcelona’s first of the contest to make the score 2-1 heading into the final 30 minutes. Ultimately, Gündogan’s goal provided Barca with momentum to claw back a 3-2 lead before conceding three late goals.
It was Gündogan’s first goal since January 4, when he struck a 92nd-minute penalty winner in Barca’s 2-1 victory over Las Palmas.
With just four goals for the season in all competitions this season, an early Gündogan strike against Osasuna may hinge on the midfielder’s nominations as free-kick or penalty taker.
João Félix – 15/2
João Félix showed signs of turning his patchy loan spell at Barcelona around before the winter break, with three goals in five.
However, the Portuguese star has since reverted to his inconsistent form that has led to just one Barcelona goal in his last nine appearances.
Xavi restored Félix to the Barca starting lineup for the Villarreal loss on Saturday, but just one shot on target saw the 24-year-old substituted off in the 58th minute.
There is now a question mark over Félix’s starting position against Osasuna following a below-par performance. As a result, the bookmakers reflect a Félix opening match goal as a long shot, with odds of 15/2.
