Atletico Madrid have enjoyed a remarkable period, winning eight of their last nine games in all competitions while avoiding defeat.

Their form has significantly improved compared to the start of the season, with the club having lost two and drawn one of the five matches prior to their undefeated run, and they currently find themselves second in La Liga with 28 points from a possible 33.

Diego Simeone's side have not been as consistent in Europe given their only victory in the Champions League – a 2-0 win against Manchester United on October 13 – was sandwiched between a 2-1 loss against Liverpool and a 1-1 draw with Stuttgart.

Atletico's only concerns on the injury front are midfielders Koke and Johnny Cardoso, and while both have returned to training, it is safer to expect Pablo Barrios and Morten Hjulmand to play in the middle of the pitch.

Bayern come into Tuesday's clash on the back of a 2-2 stalemate with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, and while that result left them top of the table, they are only ahead of Black and Yellow due to superior goal difference.

The Bavarians have drawn four of their last seven fixtures in all competitions, a period that includes Champions League stalemates with Arsenal and Viking FK.

Bayern are dealing with a major injury crisis in their forward line, with Luis Diaz and Jamal Musiala ruled out, while there are serious doubts about the availability of Michael Olise, Serge Ganbry and Ismael Saibari.

The visitors may not have any other option but to use Alphonso Davies, Lennart Karl and Nathaniel Brown behind striker Harry Kane.

Whispers predicts: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Bayern Munich

While Bayern are understandably backed by the bookmakers at 6/5 (2.2), it may be worthwhile to back a home win at 17/10 (2.7) due to the visitors' injury crisis.

Given both teams have scored in six of Bayern's seven away games this term, there could be value in backing Both Teams to Score at 2/5 (1.4).

Considering the hosts have scored at least two goals in five of their six home games this season, it may make sense to predict Over 1.5 Goals for Atletico Madrid at 10/11 (1.91).

Atletico's Alex Baena has provided three assists in his last six games, so it could be sensible to back Alex Baena to Assist at 3/1 (4).

📈 Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich — Whispers' Tips

> Both Teams to Score at 2/5 (1.4) | Likelihood: High

> Over 1.5 Goals for Atletico Madrid at 10/11 (1.91) | Likelihood: Medium
