Arsenal vs Man City: Why to back Eberechi Eze to score at 15/4

The first piece of major silverware is available to win in English football this weekend as the top two in the Premier League clash in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, it is Arsenal against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium, with the winners potentially being given a spark for the rest of the season.

The Gunners are the frontrunners to win a first Premier League title in 22 years, but City have caught them before, and will feel that they can do again.

Mikel Arteta's team are also still in the Champions League and FA Cup, and so the unprecedented quadruple is still on.

City were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, but they also still have plenty of opportunities to win silverware.

Pep Guardiola will also want to get another one over his former assistant coach, and so the cup final is set up beautifully.

It will take a big player from either team to step up and help drive their side to glory, and here is why we believe Eberechi Eze is the man to back in the betting markets…

Eze got his dream move to boyhood club Arsenal last summer, after being so close to joining North London rivals Tottenham.

After perhaps a slow start, his season sparked into life with a hat-trick against Spurs in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, and he also followed that up with a brace in the reverse fixture – both resulting in 4-1 wins for the Gunners.

In total, Eze has scored nine goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season, including once in the Carabao Cup in a 2-0 victory at Port Vale.

However, the Englishman is also a big-game player, exemplified by netting a thunderbolt in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen last time out to help send Arsenal through.

That is now six goal contributions in his last nine appearances (G4, A2), and so Eze is a player in-form heading to Wembley.

He also has pedigree in terms of playing City, having supplied a crucial assist for Gabriel Martinelli to equalise late against them in the 1-1 home draw in the league earlier this season, while he also scored the winning goal for Crystal Palace against them in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.

Taking all this into account, we are backing Eze to score anytime at 15/4 with various bookmakers on Sunday.

Eberechi Eze's record against Manchester City

Eze has played City 10 times in total in his senior career so far, scoring twice while also providing two assists.

However, he has only won once across those matches (D3, L6), but that was the FA Cup final.

The midfielder will hope to inspire Arsenal this time to a final win at Wembley, and we believe that he could get on the scoresheet.
