Arsenal may have won the Premier League title after a 22-year wait, but reports are already emerging of a potential squad departure. The club were confirmed as champions following Manchester City's failure to beat Bournemouth on Tuesday evening, and celebrations broke out immediately at the training ground. The squad will officially lift the trophy after Sunday's fixture against Crystal Palace, with captain Martin Odegaard and the rest of the team receiving their gold medals at that point.
In the midst of those celebrations, however, a talented young player may be on his way out. Sky Sports have revealed that Ethan Nwaneri could leave the club this summer.
Major interest from Borussia Dortmund for Ethan Nwaneri
The 18-year-old, who until recently held the record as the youngest player in Premier League history before being overtaken by Max Dowman, was nominated for the Young Player of the Season award last campaign. He subsequently signed a long-term contract running until 2030, but has found it extremely difficult to secure regular minutes within Arteta's well-drilled system.

He failed to make a single league start, though he did feature in six top-flight matches — enough to qualify for a winners' medal. In January he moved to Marseille on loan, registering two goals in 11 appearances as the club secured a fifth-place finish. Despite being set to return to north London, the attacking midfielder remains the primary target for Borussia Dortmund.
Transfer complications — and who gets a medal
The German runners-up attempted to sign Nwaneri previously, before his contract extension was agreed, and club representatives remain huge admirers of the player. They have recently made fresh enquiries about his situation, and the player is understood to be open to a summer move and would not be opposed to a switch to Dortmund. The German club have long established a reputation for getting the best out of talented young players who have struggled for minutes elsewhere.
A deal is far from straightforward, however. A significant transfer fee is expected to be demanded, and considerable complications around any loan arrangement are anticipated.
On the medal front: while Nwaneri comfortably meets the five-appearance threshold for an award, goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tommy Setford do not qualify, having failed to make a single league start. Arsenal will receive a total of 40 medals, which the club can distribute freely among squad members and backroom staff who contributed to the historic triumph.
