Young Boys vs Hertha Berlin Lineups, Preview, and Team Information
Young Boys
There is always a high ambition for Young Boys as they will try to get some experience in the Champions League this season after an impressive domestic campaign last season. There were few news signings this summer with Lukasz Lakomy a new face in the midfield coming over from Polish side Zaglebie Lubin. Other newcomers include a defender Saidy Janko and a center-forward Silvere Ganvoula. Several players are still sidelined through injury and won't participate in this matchup: David van Ballmoos, Anthony Racioppi, Leandro Zbinden, Sandro Lauper, and Cedric Itten.
Probable lineup: Keller, Camara, Amenda, Garcia, Blum, Niasse, Chaiwa, Lakomy, Fassnacht, Elia, Ganvoula.
Hertha Berlin
There is a new goal for Hertha in the new season and that is to quickly return to the Bundesliga. Unfortunately for the Berlin outfit, this is more often than not a jarring endeavor. Hertha has been in danger of being relegated the last few years, but finally, they couldn't keep themselves in the top division last season. This will be a chance for a new start with a younger squad for coach Pal Dardai. As is usually the case when a team is relegated, some players had to be sold for financial reasons. Santiago Ascacibar, Omar Alderete, and Maximilian Mittelstadt left the club. New arrivals include Fabian Reese, Marius Gersbeck, and Jeremy Dudziak. Agustin Rogel, Myziane Maolida, and Kelian Nsona are expected to miss the game with health concerns.
Probable lineup: Christensen, Kempf, Dardai, Kenny, Uremovic, Stange, Cigerci, Tousart, Dudziak, Maza, Rolke.
Player to Watch: Jean-Pierre Nsame
The Cameroon international player has been a member of Young Boys since 2017 with a loan spell at Venezia as part of his journey at the Swiss champions. Nsame made his name playing for the Bern outfit scoring 128 goals in 216 games while assisting 36 times. He also has four caps for Cameroon national team.
Nsame previously starred at the French lower division team Amiens but also played for Angers and Servette. Nsame will be a key member of the Young Boys team as they are preparing for another assault on the title while also thinking about their chances in the Champions League.
Starting lineups
