LASK vs Liverpool: Why to back Rio Ngumoha to Score at 21/10 in Champions League clash

Liverpool will hope to bounce back to winning ways when they take on LASK in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Following on from their 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday, Andoni Iraola will be desperate to put that result behind him.

The Reds travel to Austria to take on LASK in their second Champions League game of the season, and a second victory would put them in a strong position early in the league phase.

Despite the defeat against City, it should come as no surprise to see the bookmakers back an away victory, with bet365 pricing a Liverpool win at 3/10 (1.3).

Wednesday's match will be vital for Andoni Iraola, especially if his side are to get back on track and build confidence.

Liverpool's frontline has been ravaged, with both Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo not travelling with the Liverpool squad.

Bradley Barcola and Rio Ngumoha both played out wide against Manchester City, but starting them on Wednesday would be risky.

That may give teenager Rio Ngumoha a chance to shine, and the winger's trickery could give the Merseysiders a cutting edge.

The 18-year-old is capable of playing on both flanks, and that will make him a threat in all areas of the pitch, so there could be value in predicting Rio Ngumoha to Score at 21/10 (3.1).

Rio Ngumoha's goal record assessed

Given Ngumoha is only 18, so it is not surprising that he does not have a strong history of production, with the youngster having only scored twice for the club since making his debut last season.

The winger has averaged 1.46 shots per 90 in all competitions this season, though he has found it easier to generate shooting opportunities when cutting inside onto his right foot.

Should Barcola or Munoz play on the right on Wednesday, Ngumoha may have plenty of chances to strike at goal from the left.
