Yokohama's season is in full swing for some time now, but the J-League has taken a break this summer and it will continue soon. Anderson Lopes scored 15 goals this league season and he is Yokohama's best player. Ryute Koike, Ryotaro Tsunoda, Yuta Koike, and Hiroki Likura are injured.

The European champions are finally starting their preseason. There were quite a few changes on Pep Guardiola's roster this summer and those circumstances are constantly evolving. The team that won the treble last season will be somewhat different in the new season with Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez the most significant departures. The latter's transfer to Saudi Arabia is still in the works but should be completed soon. Mateo Kovacic is the newest member of the team and his compatriot Josko Gvardiol should join in the next week or so from RB Leipzig after months of speculation. The Croatian defender could become the most expensive defender in the Premier League. Kevin De Bruyne will most likely miss the game through injury.

Player to Watch: Mateo Kovacic
It was somewhat of a surprise when Man City evolved their interest in Mateo Kovacic who has played for Chelsea the last few years. Kovacic brings versatility to the midfield and was one of the rare bright spots of Chelsea's season last term. However, he did lack some goals for the London outfit and that is something Kovacic could change when playing for a coach like Guardiola.
The 29-year-old has played for multiple top sides throughout his career, the likes of Inter Milan and Real Madrid come to mind and over the years he has become one of Croatia's most influential players accumulating 95 caps with five goals scored. Kovacic was part of a World Cup 2018 silver medal side as well as the one that ended third in last year's world showing.
