After digging out a draw from a losing position against Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the season, Wolves have kicked in, winning back-to-back matches away from home against Preston and Sheffield Wednesday.
Those two victories should mean they return to Molineux brimming with confidence and ready to give their supporters a much-improved performance after being second-best to Blackburn for much of the game in their last home fixture.
There is little risk of tired legs in the home camp, either, as manager Cesar Peixoto was able to make eight changes to his starting XI for the cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday and still come through it as comfortable winners.
Stoke haven’t won an away league match in 2026.
Fer Lopez has been the club's standout player so far this season, and he should return to the starting XI here. In fact, Peixoto could quite easily select the same team that beat Preston last weekend, with no fresh injuries to report.
As for Stoke City, their start to the season has likely been a cause for concern for the club's supporters and ownership team alike.
The Potters have won just one of their four competitive matches this season, and that was a home cup match against League Two side Oldham Athletic, so there is plenty to work on.

Manager Mark Robins may well be becoming concerned about his future at the club, as this start to the season follows a poor end to the last campaign, which saw his team lose five of their last six matches.
