Both Ipswich and West Ham have nothing much to play for when they meet at Portman Road on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Premier League season. The hosts have already been relegated to the Championship, but could still finish as high as 18th, while the visitors could climb as high as 14th.
Ipswich vs West Ham prediction: Hammers to end on a high?
Key Stats
- Ipswich are winless in seven games, and have not won at home since January.
- West Ham have only won once in 10 matches, although that was in their last away outing with a 2-0 victory at Manchester United.
- West Ham have won the last four H2Hs.
Correct score prediction: Ipswich 1-2 West Ham
West Ham's superior league position and recent H2H record suggests they are favourites for victory. Both teams are out of form though, so it may be a closer one to call than perhaps expected.
Pre-game odds and win probability: West Ham the clear favourite
- HOME: 19/10 (2.90) – 34.5%
- DRAW: 11/4 (3.25) – 26.7%
- AWAY: 23/20 (2.15) – 46.5%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
As expected, West Ham are favourites for all three points, while incidentally an Ipswich win is the next fancied outcome. A draw is the least expected result according to the implied probabilities.

Most recent H2Hs: Hammers on winning streak
West Ham have won the previous four meetings, although Ipswich did score in each one too. That will give the Tractor Boys some encouragement of pulling off a shock result, but the odds are against them here.

Ipswich preview: No Phillips farewell
Kalvin Phillips is ruled out through injury which means Ipswich will not be able to give him a farewell as he returns to Manchester City after his loan spell. The Tractor Boys are also sweating over the fitness of Conor Townsend for this one.

West Ham preview: Will Fabianski and Ings get send offs?
Lukasz Fabianski and Danny Ings are leaving West Ham this summer, and so could be given rare starts with little to play for. Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio are long-term absentees with injury though.
Predicted lineup: Fabianski (GK), Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell, Coufal, Alvarez, Soler, Wan-Bissaka, Kudus, Bowen & Ings

Player to watch: Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen is undoubtedly West Ham's main man, and he is bang in form as the Hammers travel to Ipswich. Indeed, he has scored four goals and made a further two assists in his last five Premier League outings.
Perhaps surprisingly, Bowen was snubbed by Thomas Tuchel in his latest England squad, and the forward will be determined to prove him wrong. A trip to already relegated Ipswich is certainly a good place to start.
