West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be feeling quietly confident about his side's chances of victory on Tuesday night, as his side have exploded into life over the past couple of weeks.
After a sluggish start to the season, West Ham have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, scoring at least three goals in each victory.
There is an acceptance that their squad is the best in the second tier, but their goalscoring prowess has still been impressive, and it could carry them through this London derby.
The Hammers will be without Joel Veltman and Tomas Soucek on Tuesday night, with the latter yet to make an appearance this season.
As for Fulham, a cup run may well be needed to keep spirits up amid a torrid start to the new Premier League season. Under Alvaro Arbeloa, the Cottagers have yet to win a league match, and currently sit inside the bottom three on just one point.
Arbeloa will likely point to a difficult fixture list, with his side already facing Liverpool and Chelsea, but that doesn't justify defeats to Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
On a more positive note, Fulham put in their best performance of the season at the weekend, drawing 0-0 with Liverpool at Anfield. The Cottagers created enough chances to get on the scoresheet, but the points were ultimately shared.
There may well be a temptation to stick with the same XI that fared well at Anfield, with Tom Cairney the only injury absentee.
