West Ham came through a nervy 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night, and although that result did move them a point further away from the relegation zone, there will be a sense of a missed opportunity considering members of the Eagles' squad were partying in Florence just four days prior.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been here before, though, and will quite like where his team are with just five matches to play, but he will also be aware that their fate could come down to how they get on on home turf.
In truth, the Hammers have been better on the road this season, and only three teams in the division have earned fewer points at home than Santo's men. A win on Saturday afternoon would give supporters something to cling to, though, as the run-in heats up.
What is absolutely in West Ham's favour at this moment in time is fitness levels. Santo has a clean bill of health for the visit of Everton, and he will be desperate for that to remain the case over the next month.
As for Everton, there will surely be a hangover from last weekend's devastating defeat in the Merseyside derby.
The Toffees succumbed to a 101st-minute winner from Virgil van Dijk at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and David Moyes will have spent this entire week trying to get his players to use it as fuel for a strong end to the campaign.
Moyes himself will be particularly up for this game, given his frosty relationship with the fans at the London Stadium. While the Scot is etched into West Ham's history books, he would love to get one over the club's supporters on Saturday.
In terms of injuries, Everton will be without Jarrad Branthwaite after he was stretchered off with a hamstring injury last weekend. The defender joins Jack Grealish in the treatment room.
