While West Brom rode their luck at times last weekend, picking up three points from an away trip to Norwich is the kind of result that can go a long way in a promotion race.
While we are still no wiser on where teams may end up this season in the second tier, there is some evidence to suggest the Baggies are going to be a force to be reckoned with this season.
They ended last season strongly, losing just one of their last 11 matches, and have carried that form into pre-season. Including friendlies, James Morrison's side have now won six in a row.
For the match against Burnley, Morrison will controversially be without Aune Heggebo, who has been handed a two-match suspension for ‘deceiving officials'. The charge related to his goal against Norwich, where Heggebo bundled the ball over the line with his arm, seemingly unintentionally, such was the speed of the cross.
Barney Stewart is expected to come in for Heggebo, with Ousmane Diakite also a doubt after going down with an injury against Norwich.
As for Burnley, they will feel they got out of jail last week, when they came from behind late on to earn themselves a point against West Ham.
The Clarets were second-best for much of the afternoon, but two late goals from Zian Flemming should mean they come into this match with a spring in their steps.
There is said to be interest in Flemming from the Premier League, but manager Nicky Hayen will be desperate to keep hold of the Dutchman, with the Clarets determined to bounce back immediately to the Premier League.
In terms of injuries this weekend, Hayen is without Josh Cullen and Connor Roberts.
