  • HOME: 3/4 (1.75) – 57.1%

The West Brom vs Sunderland odds suggest that West Brom should win this game, a notion we don't necessarily disagree with. They are unbeaten in their last ten matches, have home advantage and have more incentive to win than their opponents, and have home advantage.

However, despite that, it's difficult to look past how often these two sides have been drawing of late and then back anything other than a draw on Saturday. West Brom have drawn three of their last four fixtures while both of Sunderland's most recent two fixtures have ended all square. Additionally, a draw wouldn't be considered a bad result for either side.

Sunderland's season fell off a cliff after Tony Mowbray's sacking, and they are now just playing for form ahead of next season. A point would be enough to keep West Brom in a commanding position in the top six and, perhaps more importantly, keep their intimidating unbeaten run going.

Alternative free betting tips that represent good value for West Brom vs Sunderland include Brandon Thomas-Asante to score anytime at 17/10 (2.70) and under 2.5 goals at 8/11 (1.73).

Last five H2Hs: Nothing to split them

The recent results between West Brom and Sunderland also put further weight behind the draw. Both clubs have enjoyed two victories over the other across the past five meetings while the other match finished all square.

West Brom preview: Gathering momentum at the best possible time

Carlos Corberan will have been happy enough with his side's 2-0 win over Rotherham, but he would have perhaps been expecting more. He could freshen things up by bringing Diangana or Phillips into the starting XI but Daryl Dike and Jason Molumby will definitely miss out through injury.

Predicted lineup: Palmer (GK), Furlong, Bartley, Kipre, Reach, Yokuslu, M'Vila, Diangana, Phillips, Johnston, Thomas-Asante

Player to watch: Matt Phillips

Matt Phillips has been out injured since the beginning of December but the West Brom winger should be ready to start his first match since returning on Saturday.

A man the Baggies could need

Before his injury, Phillips was a key man on the flanks for Carlos Corberan. His lengthy layoff saw the club bring in Mikey Johnston and the ex-Celtic man has been superb. Phillip's experience and ability could prove vital, however, with the playoffs looming.
