🔥 Our Hot tip

Leicester City or draw

Leicester are unbeaten across their last four Championship matches.

West Brom will take on Leicester in the Championship on Friday, 26 September, with both teams eyeing a place in the Premier League next season.

Both promotional hopefuls will be reasonably happy with how they have started the new season, and a win for either side here would lift them into the automatic promotion spaces.

As part of this week's round of Championship betting tips, check out our West Brom vs Leicester prediction below.

West Brom vs Leicester prediction: The visitors to avoid defeat

Key Stats

  • Leicester have lost just one of their six Championship matches this season.
  • West Brom have lost their last two Championship matches.
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in three of West Brom's last four matches.

Correct score prediction: West Brom 1-1 Leicester

There isn't an awful lot to split these teams, but West Brom's form coming into the match is a concern, so if we were to lean one way here, then it would be towards the Foxes.

Most recent H2Hs: Leicester domination

Leicester's status as the underdogs for this fixture is a little perplexing for a couple of reasons, with one of them being the fact that they have an excellent recent record against West Brom. The Foxes have won each of their last five matches against the Baggies, and haven't lost to them in ten years.

West Brom preview: Changes are expected

After losing two matches on the bounce, West Brom manager Ryan Mason is expected to tinker with his starting XI for the visit of Leicester City. A couple of obvious candidates to be given a start on Friday night are Toby Collyer and Mikey Johnston who have both had to settle for fringe roles so far this season.

Predicted lineup: Griffiths (GK), Gilchrist, Phillips, Mepham, Styles, Molumby, Collyer, Wallace, Price, Johnston, Heggebo

Last five results

  • Middlesbrough 2-1 West Brom
  • West Brom 0-1 Derby County
  • Stoke 0-1 West Brom
  • West Brom 1-1 Portsmouth
  • Wrexham 2-3 West Brom

Leicester preview: Ramsey remains unavailable

New Leicester City signing Aaron Ramsey (no, not the Welsh one) is still unavailable for selection on Friday night after he picked up a red card in the Foxes' clash with Oxford United. Cifuentes will have been pleased with a point against Coventry last weekend, so chances are, he will keep things the same.

Predicted lineup: Stolarczyk (GK), Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas, Soumare, Winks, Fatawu, James, Mavididi, Ayew

Last five results

  • Leicester 0-0 Coventry
  • Oxford Utd 0-0 Coventry
  • Leicester 2-0 Birmingham
  • Charlton 0-1 Leicester
  • Preston 2-1 Leicester

Player to watch: Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew has been playing in English football now for more than a decade, but this is his first sample of life in the Championship. At the age of 34, Ayew's best days are behind him, but there is a sense that he could excel in the Championship against slower defences.
