It's been a testing start to the season for West Ham, but Tuesday night's 4-1 victory over Southampton could have ignited something in the squad.
In truth, West Ham could quite easily be on six points in the Championship, rather than one. They threw away a 2-0 lead against Burnley on the opening weekend, and generated 2.82xG in the shock home defeat to Charlton.
Performances have been encouraging, and history suggests the Hammers will get their rewards if they continue to create chances at the rate they have so far this season.

For the clash with Watford, manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be without Pablo and Tomas Soucek.
As for Watford, their strong start to the season has been a little surprising as they won just one pre-season friendly over the summer.
Since competitive action started, though, their record is two wins, one draw and one defeat, although a humbling 5-1 defeat to Peterborough in the Carabao Cup earlier this week will have been a shock to the system.
