Both teams to score - yes

Both teams have scored in Watford and Sheff Wed's previous two fixtures

After over a decade of being stung by the Hornets, Sheffield Wednesday have a golden opportunity to finally defeat Watford, who have struggled for form of late.

Last five H2Hs:

This pair have only duelled intermittently in the Championship, with Wednesday spending time in League One, and Watford flying high in the Premier League.

But there is no doubting Watford's chokehold on this fixture, with the away side not having even conceded to the Owls since 2015.

Sheff Wed preview: Steady improvement at Hillsborough

After staving off relegation last season, Sheffield Wednesday have consolidated this campaign, sitting in a cushy 13th place.

Manager Danny Rohl has deservedly earned plaudits, and Shea Charles and Barry Bannan have provided a classic balance of youth and experience in midfield. A win could have the Owls within touching distance of the playoffs.

Predicted lineup: Beadle(GK), Valery, Bernard, Palmer, Valentin, Charles, Bannan, Lowe, Gassama, Windass, Smith

Watford preview: Away day woes

Watford sit seventh in the Championship table at time of writing, but no thanks to their away form. The Hornets have lost five and won just one on the road.

Tom Cleverley's side will be hoping that they can put that woeful record right at Wednesday. They will need to be tougher to beat away from Vicarage Road to finish in the playoffs.

Watford will still be without centre-back Angelo Ogbonna for this tricky trip north.

Predicted lineup: Bachmann (GK), Pollock, Sierralta, Porteous, Ebosele, Ince, Sissoko, Kayembi, Larouci, Chakvetadze, Baah

Josh Windass has been Wednesday's most prolific player this campaign – Photo by imago

Player to watch – Josh Windass

When Wednesday boss Rohl joined partway through last season, with the Owls looking dead and buried, one of the young German coach's biggest public advocates was attacker Josh Windass, who spoke freely of his desire to learn from his new manager.

The 30-year-old clearly has, and has thrived in a free, floating role behind the striker. His goals have secured the Owls key points this season, could he do the same here?
