Walsall vs Aston Villa Lineups, Team News, and Preview
Walsall
This is a club that competes in League Two which is the final station of the EFL league system, or rather the border between professional and amateur football. Walsall is one of the staples of the fifth-tier football system in England. They are a club without a significant budget to bring in new players, so most of their dealings are done via free transfer. Douglas James-Taylor, Danny Johnson, Priestley Farquharson, Freddie Draper, and Chris Hussey are some of the players that arrived this summer. On the other hand, Jacob Maddox, Manny Monthe, Liam Kinsella, Conor Wilkinson, and Timmy Abraham left upon the expiration of their contracts.
Predicted lineup: Evans, Daniels, Farquharson, Gordon, Foulkes, Willock, Maher, Stirk, Allen, Knowles, James-Taylor.
Aston Villa
The Birmingham outfit has been careful in their transfer dealings so far this summer, the only official arrival is of Youri Tielemans whose contract with Leicester expired and he moved on as a free agent. There is an expected arrival of Spanish defender Pau Torres who should join Aston Villa soon enough from the former club of Villa's current manager Unai Emery. We are talking about Villareal, of course. There should be some additional players arriving as Aston Villa has some high expectations for the new season.
Predicted lineup: Olsen, Mings, Carlos, Moreno, Cash, Dendoncker, Nakamba, Tielemans, Traore, Moraes, Archer.
Player to Watch: Youri Tielemans
The exciting new arrival at Aston Villa, the experienced Belgian international Youri Tielemans will bring a lot of positives into his new team, especially from the perspective of playing in the Premier League for so long. Tielemans' contract expired upon the completion of last season when Leicester was relegated, and the Belgian national team player chose quickly to move into his new surroundings.
The 26-year-old has played for Leicester since 2019 upon arriving from AS Monaco and performed in 195 games while scoring 28 times with 26 assists on the record as well. He has been capped by Belgium 60 times and scored five goals. Earlier in his career, Tielemans played for Anderlecht.
