After losing four consecutive league matches, Valencia parted ways with head coach Carlos Corberan, replacing him with Valencia B coach Oscar Sanchez on an interim basis.

The 46-year-old was impressive in his first game in charge, as he led Los Che to a hard-fought 1-0 win at Deportivo Alaves, the team's first win of the campaign.

With only four points earned from a possible 18, the hosts are in 19th place, but a victory this weekend will steer them out of the relegation zone ahead of the extended international break.

Goals have been hard to come by for Los Che, who are the league's lowest-scoring side with only two goals this term. They will be without the injured Cesar Tarrega, Mouctar Diakhaby, and Umar Sadiq, who scored one of their two goals.

On the other hand, Real Sociedad kicked off their UEFA Europa League campaign with a 2-1 home defeat against Bournemouth. They have now lost back-to-back home games and have managed only two wins in their last 10 fixtures across all competitions (D1, L7).

The Basque side have fared better than their hosts this season and are 12th in La Liga. A return to winning ways will be the target as head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo finds himself under increasing scrutiny after his side's recent slump in form.

Alvaro Odriozola and Igor Zubeldia are both sidelined for the visitors, while Jon Martin, who served a one-match suspension during the club's last league outing, is now available for selection.

Although both teams share a 2-1-2 win-draw-loss record in their last five meetings, Valencia have two wins and a draw in their last three skirmishes.

Whispers Predicts: Valencia 2-1 Real Sociedad

Priced at 17/10 (2.70), Real Sociedad are slightly favoured by the bookmakers ahead of this encounter.

However, the visitors have lost seven of their last 10 games in all competitions, and considering their recent struggles against Valencia, we are confident that Los Che will claim all the spoils.

Three or more goals were scored in five of Real Sociedad's last six matches, so over 2.5 total goals at 9/10 (1.90) should be worth a punt.

We also fancy over 10.5 total corners at 33/20 (2.65). This landed in five of the visiting team's last six games.
