Valencia kept their European hopes alive with a 1-0 victory on the road against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

While Carlos Corberan's troops are only three points above the relegation zone, they are also three points behind seventh-placed Getafe.

With three matches left to play, Los Che could potentially secure a UEFA Conference League spot or get relegated at the end of the season.

The victory at San Mames over the weekend came at a cost for Los Che, as midfielder Diego Lopez sustained an injury and is a major doubt for this clash. Jose Copete (meniscus) and Thierry Correia (hamstring) are also sidelined for the hosts due to injury.

On the other hand, Rayo Vallecano extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 1-1 draw with Girona in their last outing.

Although the visitors have been one of the league's worst travellers with only four wins in 17 away games, they were victorious in their last two matches on the road across all competitions.

Moreover, Rayo also have a solid track record against Valencia, having lost only once in the last 10 skirmishes between these outfits. They can secure a Conference League spot by finishing in the top 7 or a UEFA Europa League berth by winning the Conference League final in a couple of weeks.

Diego Mendez, with a knee injury, and Luiz Felipe, with hamstring problems, are both ruled out for the remainder of the season for the visitors.

Veteran midfielder Isi Palazon will also be unavailable for selection as the 31-year-old is serving the third of his seven-match suspension for improper conduct.

Whispers Predicts: Valencia 1-1 Rayo Vallecano

At 2.26, Valencia are considered favourites by the bookmakers. However, Los Che managed only one win in the last 10 clashes between these sides.

Interestingly, three of the last four H2Hs ended in stalemates, as did five of Rayo Vallecano's last seven trips to this stadium.

On that note, we fancy a draw at 3.52.

Keeping in mind that five of the last nine meetings between these teams ended 1-1, a similar result can be backed at 6.20.
