Tottenham & Over 2.5 total goals

Ipswich have lost eight of their 13 home games in the Premier League and over 2.5 goals have been scored in 68% of Tottenham's matches.

Struggling Ipswich have only managed one win at home this season and this weekend they play host to a Tottenham side that have won their last two matches in the Premier League.

Ipswich vs Tottenham prediction: Away win and at least three goals?

Key Stats

  • Ipswich score an average of 0.69 goals per home game while Tottenham score an average 1.75 goals on the road.
  • Both teams have scored in 60% of Tottenham's league games so far this season.
  • Ipswich have only managed to keep clean sheets in 8% of their home games.
  • Tottenham have only kept clean sheets in 24% of their 25 outings in the Premier League.

Correct score prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Tottenham

Ipswich got the better of Spurs when the pair met in November but the Tractor Boys have performed better on their travels than in their own backyard and we're backing Tottenham to have their revenge on Saturday. The hosts have lost eight of their 13 matches at Portman Road and conceded an average of 2.00 goals per game there.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Tottenham the bookmaker's pick

  • HOME: 14/5 (3.80) – 26.3%
  • DRAW: 14/5 (3.80) – 26.3%
  • AWAY: 21/20 (2.05) – 48.8%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Tottenham are the expected winner of this game with a probability of 48.8% and it's hard to argue with the bookmakers on this selection.

Ipswich preview: An excellent point at Villa

Despite going down to ten men in the 40th minute, Ipswich managed to come away from Villa Park with a 1-1 draw last weekend.

Axel Tuanzebe picked up two silly yellow cards in the first half and the teams went in at the break goalless. That man Liam Delap scored an excellent goal in the 56th minute to put the Tractor Boys in front but Ollie Watkins equalised in the 69th minute and the game ended all square.

Tuanzebe will miss the Tottenham game due to suspension, while Wesley Burns, Chiedozie Ogbene, Christian Walton, Conor Chaplin, Samuel Szmodics, Samy Morsy, Leif Davis, and Julio Enciso are all doubts due to injury.

Predicted lineup: Palmer (GK), Townsend, Godfrey, O'Shea, Johnson, Greaves, Phillips, Cajuste, Clarke, Delap & Hutchinson

Tottenham preview: Back-to-back PL wins

Spurs played host to Man Utd last Sunday. Despite a promising start by the visitors, Tottenham came through in the end.

The Red Devils should have scored early on and their failure to do so proved costly as James Maddison scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game in the 13th minute to hand Ange Postecoglou's side a much-needed victory.

Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Cristian Romero have been ruled out of Saturday's clash with Ipswich.

Predicted lineup: Vicario (GK), Davies, Danso, Spence, Porro, Maddison, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Bergvall, Son & Tel

Player to watch: James Maddison

Fresh off the back of scoring the winner against Manchester United last weekend, we're backing James Maddison to shine for Spurs once again.

The England international midfielder top scores for Tottenham in the Premier League this season with nine goals and has also chipped in with four assists.

Maddison has 13 goal involvements for Spurs

We're backing Maddison to prove to be Tottenham's talisman again this weekend when the Londoners make the trip to Portman Road to face a struggling Ipswich side.

James developed his own blog covering football transfers from across Europe's big leagues before becoming a regular match preview and betting tips writer and now has 10+ years experience covering club and international leagues and competitions across the globe.
