Tottenham to win to nil

All of Tottneham's wins this season have come with a clean sheet attached.

Tottenham will begin their Carabao Cup campaign on Wednesday night when they take on Doncaster Rovers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Premier League side have made a strong start to the season in all competitions and will look to build on that by qualifying for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Doncaster have also had a decent start to their League One season, so at least they come into the match with some belief.

As part of this week's round of EFL Cup betting tips, check out our Tottenham vs Doncaster prediction below.

Tottenham vs Doncaster prediction: An easy night ahead for Spurs

Key Stats

  • Tottenham have kept a clean sheet in four of the six matches they've played this season.
  • Doncaster have lost their last two matches.
  • Richarlison has scored three goals in six matches this season.

Correct score prediction: Tottenham 3-0 Doncaster

Tottenham have been impressive under Thomas Frank so far and showed great resolve to come from 2-0 down to rescue a point against Brighton at the weekend. Doncaster, meanwhile, have lost their last two matches in League One, so an away match against a Champions League team is unlikely to yield a different result.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Tottenham are big favourites

  • HOME: 1/6 (1.17) – 85.7%
  • DRAW: 7/1 (8.00) – 12.5%
  • AWAY: 14/1 (15.00) – 6.7%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Tottenham vs Doncaster odds are what you'd expect for a match between one of the Premier League's best teams and a League One outfit. Ladbrokes have given Spurs an 85.7% chance of winning the match, while Doncaster have been given just a 6.7% chance of victory.

Most recent H2Hs: A first meeting in 16 years

This will be the first time that Tottenham and Doncaster have played a match against each other, with the most recent clash in 2009 also coming in this competition. On that occasion, Tottenham ran out as emphatic 5-1 winners, and a similar result here wouldn't be a shock.

Tottenham preview: Rotation expected

After playing both a Champions League and Premier League match in the last week, Thomas Frank will use this game as an opportunity to shuffle his pack. Players who he won't be able to call on include James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Yves Bissouma, due to injuries.

Predicted lineup: Kinsky (GK), Spence, Danso, Davies, Udogie, Gray, Sarr, Simons; Johnson, Scarlett, Tel

Last five results

  • Brighton 2-2 Tottenham
  • Tottenham 1-0 Villarreal
  • West Ham 0-3 Tottenham
  • Tottenham 0-1 Bournemouth
  • Man City 0-2 Tottenham

Doncaster preview: Ajayi to miss out

Damola Ajayi will be ineligible to line up for Doncaster on Wednesday night due to the fact that he is on loan from Tottenham. Elsewhere, Harry Clifton is ruled out with a long-term hamstring injury.

Predicted lineup: Lawlor (GK), Sterry, McGrath, Pearson, Maxwell, Close, Bailey, Molyneux, Crew, Gibson, Sharp

Last five results

  • Doncaster 1-2 Wimbledon
  • Wigan 3-0 Doncaster
  • Doncaster 3-1 Bradford
  • Doncaster 2-1 Everton u21s
  • Doncaster 1-0 Rotherham

Player to watch: Archie Gray

Archie Gray has found opportunities difficult to come by so far this season, but there is still plenty of belief within the club that he will be a key Tottenham player for years to come. For Gray to get himself into main starting XI, he will need to impress in matches such as this one.
