Chelsea approach Maignan
Chelsea have started the summer transfer window strongly, signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Now, the Blues are targeting a new goalkeeper.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have held talks to sign AC Milan superstar Mike Maignan. The Frenchman has still not signed a new contract at San Siro and is due to become a free agent next summer. The two clubs are in negotiations, with the ball now in Milan's court. The Rossoneri are expected to demand a fee in the region of £25million for the 29-year-old, who kept 13 clean sheets in Serie A last season. Whispers Rating: 4/5

Sancho leaves Chelsea, attracts Saudi interest
Chelsea have decided against turning Jadon Sancho's loan move into a permanent deal after the Englishman refused to agree to lowering his wage demands. He now returns to Manchester United, but for only a brief period.
The Mirror claims Sancho could be heading to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr all interested in signing the 25-year-old. Having pocketed the £5million penalty fee from Chelsea, United now hope to raise around £25million from his permanent sale. Considering his underwhelming output and questionable attitude, it is fair to assume no top European club would consider meeting United and his financial demands. Whispers Rating: 3/5

Fati heading to Monaco
Ansu Fati is another winger, who was one of the most sought-after names in his teenage years, but is now considered surplus to requirements at his current club. Barcelona are keen to sell Fati, who has endured several fitness issues over the years.
Romano reveals that the La Liga giants are in “advanced talks” with AS Monaco to strike an agreement over a loan deal, including an option to buy for £10million. The deal also includes a significant sell-on clause for Barca. The 22-year-old Spaniard only managed three starts in La Liga last season. Whispers Rating: 4.5/5

Arsenal could be handed Zubimendi blow
Martin Zubimendi is viewed as Arsenal's priority target for midfield and reports in May suggested the Premier League giants have convinced the Real Sociedad midfielder to join their project.
However, a report from Radio Nacional de Espana (via Metro) suggests the 26-year-old has cast doubt over a move to the Emirates, as he still has “options” and remains unsure about his next destination. In recent days, several outlets have claimed Real Madrid could make a move for the Spain international, with Xabi Alonso keen on signing a new midfielder. Whispers Rating: 2.5/5
