Newcastle to bid for Wissa
After losing Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and Christian Nørgaard to Arsenal, Brentford now face an uphill task of keeping hold of Yoane Wissa, their reliable goalscorer. Early this week, the 28-year-old returned to the UK from the club's pre-season training camp for talks with the hierarchy over his future.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reveals Newcastle United are set to make a formal offer in excess of £30million for the striker. Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring the situation. Brentford still want to keep Wissa and have previously demanded more than £50million to consider the DR Congo international's exit. Whispers Rating: 3.5/5

Isak makes astronomical demands
On the one hand, Newcastle are trying to sign a new striker, and on the other hand, the Magpies are having to deal with strong interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia in Alexander Isak. Liverpool also tried to sign the Swede before securing Hugo Ekitike's signature.
A report in Talksport suggests Newcastle want to extend the 25-year-old's contract to ward off potential suitors. Isak is thought to be demanding £300,000-a-week to sign a new contract. However, a deal of that magnitude would smash the club’s pay structure. Whispers Rating: 2.5/5
