Telstar dropped two more points in what has been a worrisome run last Sunday when they played out a 2-2 stalemate with ADO Den Haag at BUKO Stadion.

De Witte Leeuwen found themselves on the way to their fifth defeat of the season when Yannick Eduardo and Evan Rottier netted quick-fire goals to cancel Tyrone Owusu’s 14th-minute opener and put Den Haag in front, but Owusu hit back for the hosts with his second of the game in the 37th minute.

Since kicking off the 2026-27 Eredivisie campaign with a nervy 2-1 victory over NEC Nijmegen on August 8, Telstar have now gone seven consecutive matches without a win, losing four and claiming three draws to sit 15th in the Eredivisie table, level on six points with 14th-placed Sparta Rotterdam.

While Henk Brugge’s men will be looking to find their feet this weekend, standing in their way is the daunting challenge of an opposing side who won both home and away meetings last season, prevailing 2-1 in November 2025, three months before coming out on top by the same scoreline at De Kuip.

On the other hand, Feyenoord held their own to see out their first Champions League win of the season in midweek as they defeated Italian outfit Como 3-2 when the two sides squared off at De Kuip.

Having suffered a heavy 5-1 loss against Barcelona in September’s opening game, strikes from Gjivai Zechiel, Anis Hadj Moussa and an own goal from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez saw Feyenoord bounce back with maximum points against the wasteful Italian side.

With the thrill from their triumph on the continental scene still in the fair, Feyenoord now turn their focus back home, where they have flown out of the blocks this season, claiming six wins and two draws from their eight games to sit one point clear at the top of the table.

Van Bronckhorst’s side made it a fourth win on the trot in the league last Saturday, when they defeated AZ Alkmaar 2-0 at home, keeping a third clean sheet and netting their 16th and 17th goals since playing out a 2-2 stalemate with ADO Den Haag on August 30.

Whispers’ prediction: Telstar 1-2 Feyenoord

Early-strugglers Telstar are up against a high-flying Feyenoord side who are unbeaten in 17 straight league games, and we predict another one-sided affair, with the visitors claiming all three points, which is priced at 33/100 (1.33) by the bookies.

Feyenoord failed to keep a clean sheet in their two meetings with Telstar last season, and BTTS – Yes at 57/100 (1.57) is another favourable punt, while 2/2 at 83/100 (1.83) is our third pick of the game.

Match goal range of 2-4 goals currently sits at 33/50 (1.66), while the correct score market has a correct score of 1-2 at 8/1 (10.00).
