Sweden to Win

Sweden have never lost against Slovakia before, with the pair meeting on six previous occasions. During that period, Sweden have claimed three wins and three draws against Slovakia and have only conceded two goals. Sweden have won five of their last six international matches, while Slovakia have only won two of their last six games.

Under 2.5 Goals

Under 2.5 goals have been produced in four of the last five encounters between these two countries and we're expecting another close and competitive 90-minutes between the pair this Friday. Four of Sweden's last six matches have produced under 2.5 goals, including the 0-0 draw with Spain, while three of Slovakia's last six outings have also seen fewer than three goals scored.

1-0 to Sweden

Sweden were a little lucky to get a draw against Spain in what was a very conservative display by the Scandinavians but they did have a couple of big chances to score and could have pinched all 3pts. Slovakia were helped out by Poland having a man sent-off and we expect Sweden to nullify their attacks on Friday and believe the Swedes will pinch a goal to win the game.

Sweden vs Slovakia: The very latest stats

Can Sweden build upon their draw with Spain?

Sweden will have been very pleased to have held Sapin to a draw in their opening game, esp[ecsailly after their hosts dominated the 90-minutes. However, both Berg and Isak had golden chances to win the game but failed to convert either of them. Sweden will be expecting to see much more of the ball on Friday against A Slovakia side that like to counter-attack. Lustig could miss the game through injury and if that is the case, he will be replaced by Newcastle's Krafth.

Not many pundits were backing Slovakia to beat Poland and to be fair, they were helped by the timely sending off of Krychowiak. Slovakia went in at the break 1-0 up after some great skill from Mak and a shot that bounced back off the post and hit Szczesny before crossing the line and going down as an own goal. Poland hit back straight away in the second half through Linetty and looked like they were going to go on and win the game. However, Krychowiak was sent-off for a second bookable offence and that gave Slovakia the edge. It wasn't long before Skriniar turned neatly in the box and fired home Slovika's second and what turned out to be the winning goal.

The smart money appears to be going on a Sweden win, despite the Scandinavians playing very defensively against Spain last time out. The Both Teams to Score market is leaning towards ‘No' as things stand, with bet365 offering 8/11 on no and evens on yes and like us the bookmakers are expecting a low-scoring game with Novibet offering 27/20 on Over 2.5 Goals being scored and just 59/100 for Under 2.5 goals. If you fancy taking a punt on Anytime Goalscorers in this game, Isak appears to be the favourite with all the bookmakers and you can get odds of 39/19 on the Swedish striker to score against Slovakia with SBK.
