Swansea vs Watford prediction: Swans to emerge victorious in front of their fans
Key stats
- Watford are without a clean sheet in their three matches across all competitions so far and have managed just one shutout in five outings dating back to preseason.
- Despite this, games involving the Hornets of late have generally been low-scoring, with only two of the last eight yielding more than two goals.
- Swansea's EFL Cup tie against Crawley Town saw Gavan Holohan sent off, but aside from that, the hosts have been involved in mild-tempered affairs more often than not, as only one of their most recent 10 games has seen more than four cards shown.
Correct score prediction: Swansea 2-1 Watford
Both teams boast similar levels of quality all over the pitch, and Saturday's game could easily swing either way.
That said, we can see the home side just about doing enough to carry the day and pick up a third straight victory across all competitions.
Pre-game odds and win probability:
- HOME: 1/1 (2.00) – 50%
- DRAW: 12/5 (3.40) – 29.4%
- AWAY: 11/4 (3.75) – 26.7%
*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Swansea have picked up five wins and a draw from their last six competitive outings on home turf, and a 50% win probability here suggests they are highly fancied to continue that good run.
Alan Sheehan's men narrowly saw off the threat of Sheffield United last time out, thanks to Ronald's solitary strike just shy of the midway point of the second half.
Similarly, Watford got the job done by the odd goal in their most recent outing against Queens Park Rangers at Vicarage Road where Luca Kjerrumgaard's double put Paulo Pezzolano's men in the driving seat before Kieran Morgan pulled one back.
The Hornets will now set out to win a league game on the road for the first time since February, and a 26.7% win probability highlights the difficulty of the task at hand.

Most recent H2Hs: Little to choose between teams
Watford's 1-0 win in the most recent editions of this fixture saw them come out on top for a fifth time in the last 11 meetings, the same number of victories Swansea have also picked up during that span.
The sides split last season's matchups equally, winning one game apiece, and will now seek to land the first blow in this season's bout.

Watford preview: Imran Louza a big miss
Louza assisted the second of Kjerrumgaard's two strikes against QPR, meaning that he has now set up two of Watford's last three goals.
However, the Moroccan will not take to the field on Saturday as he serves a suspension after receiving his marching orders last time out.
Giorgi Chakvetadze (foot), Pierre Dwomoh (thigh), Matthew Pollock (hamstring) and Caleb Wiley (back) will also miss out for the away side.
Predicted lineup: Selvik (GK), Bola, Abankwah, Keben, Ngakia, Kayembe, Sissoko, Kyprianou, Doumbia, Kjerrumgaard & Irankunda

Player to watch – Luca Kjerrumgaard
Off the back of a 22-goal season with Odense, Kjerrumgaard arrived at Watford on loan from Udinese with a lot of expectations.
The Dane was largely underwhelming in his first four appearances for his new employers, but served up a reminder of his quality with two lovely goals against QPR.

Kjerrumgaard will be aiming to deliver the goods for his side once again and will need to be on song if they are to leave Wales with all three points.
