Recent H2Hs: Swansea in control

Swansea have had the upper hand in this fixture for some time, including when the pair were both Premier League outfits.

In fact, the Black Cats have beaten the Swans only once since 2012/13.

Swansea preview: Gaining momentum

After struggling for goals early in the season, and relying on goalkeeper Lawrence Vigoroux's heroics in goal for clean sheets, Swansea have hit form of late.

The Swans have scored 10 in their last five games, and have picked up four of their seven wins since the start of November.

Swansea survived a late onslaught at Plymouth midweek to take all three points back to Wales.

Predicted lineup: Vigoroux (GK), Key, Darling, Cabango, Tymon, Fulton, Grimes, Peart-Harris, Cullen, Eom, Bianchini

Sunderland preview: Losing ground

Sunderland were sat pretty atop the Championship table early in the season, with eight wins from their opening 11 games.

However, the Black Cats have dropped off the pace since, and are now four points adrift from top spot, with Blackburn now breathing down their necks.

In fairness to Sunderland, they have endured a cruel injury crisis, and nine first team players will miss this fixture.

Predicted lineup: Patterson (GK), Hume, Ballard, Mepham, Alese, Neil, Bellingham, Mayenda, Rigg, Watson, Isidor

Liam Cullen has found success in a new role – Photo by imago/Graham Hunt

Player to watch: Liam Cullen

Swansea's Liam Cullen has played most of his career as a number nine, but the Welsh international has found form in recent weeks in a more withdrawn role.

Cullen has scored three and assisted one in his last five playing as a number ten, behind Florian Bianchini or Zan Vipotnik.
