After losing 2-1 at newly-promoted Ipswich Town on the opening weekend, Sunderland are now unbeaten in three games in all competitions (W2, D1).

Arsenal will be their toughest test yet though, although the Black Cats can take encouragement from holding them to a 2-2 draw in this fixture last season.

Regis Le Bris will want to break an appalling H2H record though for his club, as Sunderland have won just once in the last 29 Premier League meetings with the Gunners (D10, L18).

The recent injury to Habib Diarra is also a fresh blow, but the hosts will be aiming to put up a decent fight.

Arsenal could welcome Jurrien Timber and Cristhian Mosquera back to the squad after injuries, although key defender William Saliba remains out.

Nonetheless, new signing Ezri Konsa has fit in like a glove, impressing in the Champions League as the Gunners kept yet another clean sheet.

Mikel Arteta's men have conceded just once all season, and that was to a player they reportedly wanted to sign this summer in Morgan Rogers.

With Manchester City not playing until Sunday afternoon against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal have the chance to go top of the table with victory.

Whispers predicts: Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal are 1/2 (1.50) favourites to win, but while we agree with the bookies, we want to explore other bets.

BTTS – No at 4/6 (1.67) stands out given Arsenal's exceptional defensive record, while Under 2.5 goals at 4/5 (1.80) has a similar appeal.

In terms of player betting, Martin Odegaard is simply too good to ignore having netted again against Napoli, so Odegaard to score anytime at 4/1 (5.00) could offer great value.

Overall, we are predicting a 2-0 Arsenal victory, which is available at 11/2 (6.50).

📈 Sunderland vs. Arsenal — Whispers' Tips
