Rangers have won nine of their last 11 matches in all competitions.

Rangers boss Derek McInnes led his new club to a cup final at the first time of asking last week, as Gers overcame Aberdeen 1-0 at Hampden Park in the semi-finals fo the Scottish League Cup.

The former Hearts boss has come a long way over the past couple of months, particularly when you consider there were even calls for him to go after Rangers failed to make it through qualifying for any European competition.

No European football has arguably been a blessing for the club, as they have not lost a single match in the league or cup since being dumped out of the Europa Conference League playoffs by Jablonec.

Their form has been the best in the division in recent weeks, although two draws from their last two away matches are a minor cause of concern ahead of this one.

For the trip to Paisley on Saturday, McIness is still without several first-team players, including Cameron Devlin, Daisuke Yokota, Jose Cifuentes, Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie and Youssef Chermiti.

As for St Mirren, their bright start to the season has been completely eradicated in recent weeks, and they have now won just one of their last eight Premiership matches after picking up 10 points from their opening four.

Craig McLeish's job is reportedly under threat if he cannot turn things around soon, but their good form early on has at least provided a buffer to keep the relegation zone out of sight, for now.

One slight positive for St Mirren ahead of this one is the fact that they have taken four points from the last six available at home, so their home fans won't be completely hopeless ahead of Saturday.

McLeish is also dealing with an injury crisis, with Ismael Kabia, Keanu Baccus, Malik Dijksteel, Nikolas Agrafiotis and Jonah Ayunga all ruled out of this one.
