It's time for our Portugal League predictions ahead of Friday's match between the league leaders Sporting and mid-table Estoril. Sporting have won their last four head-to-heads with Estoril and are the bookmakers' overwhelming favourite to secure all three points on Friday but Estoril have been in good form of late and could be a tough nut to crack.

Sporting Lisbon vs Estoril prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Both Teams to Score

  • Both teams have scored in four of Sporting's last six matches in all competitions.
  • Both teams have found the back of the net in four of Estoril's last six matches in league and cup.

Another reason that we have backed BTTS as our main prediction for this game is that both Estoril and Sporting have scored in each of their last six outings.

Sporting Lisbon vs Estoril team news

Sporting Lisbon

Sporting made the rip to Portimonense in their last game where after a goalless first half, Viktor Gyokeres fired the visitors in front just short of the hour mark. Portimonense managed to get back onto level terms ten minutes later but a goal from Paulinho in the eightieth minute won the match for Sporting.

Sebastian Coates, Jerry St. Juste and Iván Fresneda all look set to miss the Estoril game due to injury.

Predicted Lineup: Adán (GK), Neto, Reis, Diomandé, Santos, Pote, Morita, Paulinho, Edwards, Gyökeres & Catamo

Estoril

Estoril were in excellent form at home to Farense last time out, scoring four goals without reply. João Marques helped himself to a brace while Tiago Araújo and Raúl Parra scored the other two goals in what was a dominating display from the hosts. That result takes Estoril to within a point of Farense in the Primeira Liga table.

Erick Cabaco is the main injury concern for the visitors ahead of their trip to Lisbon this week.

Predicted Lineup: Carné (GK), Álvaro, Parra, Araújo, Vital, Guitane, Holsgrove, Marques, Fernandes, Cassiano & Gomes

Player to Watch: Pote

Sporting Lisbon's Pote has been in good form this season, providing goals and assists on a regular basis which has no doubt played a big part in the club's title challenge.

Many might have expected more goals from the 25-year-old who has scored an impressive forty-six goals in his last three Primeira Liga campaigns combined. However, the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres has allowed Pote to play a more creative role from midfield and the Portuguese international has scored four and assisted four goals in the league so far this season, only Gyokeres has created more goals for his teammates.
