Here are our Portuguese league predictions ahead of Sporting's trip to Estrela on Friday night.

Sporting top the Primeira Liga table heading into the latest round of fixtures but Benfica are in action before them and could go top if they secure a win at home to Chaves, so there will be pressure on Sporting in the late kick-off.

Player to watch – Paulinho

Paulinho is into his fourth season with Sporting after making the move from Braga in 2021.

The 31-year-old has equalled his best-ever goals return for Sporting this season (11) which he achieved in the 2021/22 campaign. Paulinho has done really well to score so many goals considering he has only started eight league games for Sporting this season, with the majority of his appearances coming off the bench (14).

Chipping in with goals on a regular basis

We're backing Paulinho to have another good game for Sporting this week, whether that is from the bench or a starting role. The 31-year-old might be getting outshined by top scorer Viktor Gyokeres but having a capable replacement gives Sporting that extra dimension they need to go all the way and win the title.
