Bostjan Cesar, who earned 101 caps for Slovenia during his playing career, took charge of his country in 2026 and oversaw his first competitive game as head coach at the weekend.
In League B, Group 1, Slovenia began their UEFA Nations League campaign with a goalless draw at home to Scotland in a match where the hosts offered little in the way of attacking threat.
